Behind The Brewer: Four Priests Brewery - A Proper Collaboration Begins

Updated: Nov 27

Behind The Brewer: Four Priests

Every so often, a brewery comes along that reminds you exactly why craft beer matters. Not hype. Not marketing waffle. Not wild accusations about AI recipe robots or some bloke in a shed typing “IPA” into ChatGPT. Just real people, real graft, proper brewing, and a community that stands behind it.

Why Four Priests Brewery Is Perfect for Behind the Brewer

Four Priests Brewery in Middlewich, Cheshire is one of those rare places. And after today’s meeting with Andy, I can officially say this is the start of something genuinely exciting.

We talked through their entire Behind The Brewer episode… the history, the pub, the beers, the future plans, the taprooms, the chaos, the canning, and even his horrifying number of broken RCDs. Andy was open, honest, funny, and clearly buzzing for what’s coming next. He’s also the kind of bloke who builds fridges out of wood, Kingspan insulation, pond pumps, and Vauxhall Vectra radiators. If that doesn’t tell you everything about his commitment, nothing will.

Add in the fact he’s been on a Channel 5 documentary, regularly films updates for his own YouTube channel, and tells his story with zero ego and zero nonsense… and you’ll understand exactly why this collaboration was a no-brainer for me.

Divine Hibernation - NEIPA

Divine Hibernation

Ginger Beer’d - Ginger Ale

Ginger Beer’d

Ginger Ale – Tribute Brew 4.3% ABV

This deserves its own spotlight. Ginger Beer’d was originally brewed for The Bridle Party, a charity event at The White Bear in Middlewich, raising money for music charities in honour of Liam Bridle. Andy brewed it for free, it sold out instantly, and months later he brewed it again for the Middlewich Beer Festival… where it won Best Beer of the Festival.A real beer, with real meaning, and it’ll be a central part of the Behind The Brewer episode.

Why This Collaboration Matters

Behind The Brewer is built on honesty, transparency, and showing people the real humans behind the pints. And after speaking with Andy, it’s obvious Four Priests fits the series perfectly.

They’ve got history. They’ve got graft. They’ve got heart. They’ve also got a community that genuinely cares, shown most clearly after the passing of Liam Bridle, whose legacy will be told properly and respectfully in the video.

This is exactly the kind of brewery I want to highlight. No bullshit. No spin. No PR gloss.Just real people brewing real beer for real drinkers.

And now we get to tell that story.
