If you’ve ever had a pint that made you grin like a daft Labrador, there’s a fair chance it came from Dog’s Window Brewery. Based in Bridgend, South Wales, this small independent brewery has been quietly knocking out some of the most characterful, creative, and downright delicious beers in the country — and if you haven’t tried them yet, it’s time to fix that.

Meet the Dog Behind the Window
Dog’s Window was born from the brilliant, beer-soaked brain of Lee, a bloke with more brewing talent than most commercial operations put together. His beers are brewed with passion, personality, and a healthy sense of humour — and it shows.
From hoppy bangers to silky stouts, Lee doesn’t do boring. His range changes faster than a dog spotting a squirrel, but there’s always something to suit every taste.
You can find his full range (and loads of other excellent craft beers) over at Nearest Beer Shop in Bridgend — the local craft beer haven that deserves your clicks as much as your cash. Read through to the end for a discount code...
The Beers You Need to Try
Let’s start with a few standouts from the Dog’s Window kennel:
24 in Dog Years – A full-flavoured celebration beer that proves life begins at 24 pints. Big hops, bold character, and a face-slapping level of freshness. Hazy IPA.
Catching Rays – Like sunshine in a glass. It’s the beer equivalent of sticking your head out of a car window on the M4 in July. Pale Ale.
Hair of the Dog – Brewed to celebrate 20 years of Hope Rescue — the incredible charity that saves stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs, giving them a second chance at life. Bright, zesty hops (Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin & Wai-iti) over a clean malt base make it crisp, sessionable, and full of heart. 10% of profits go straight to Hope Rescue, because no dog deserves to be left behind. NZ Pale Ale.
It’s a Crossbreed – Maple and Vanilla – Like licking dessert off a bar mat (in a good way). Sweet, layered, and far too easy to love. Maple Stout. Vanilla Stout.
Okie Dokie Loki – The blood orange beauty brewed in collaboration with Simon Martin of Real Ale Craft Beer. Bright, citrusy, and a proper showcase of what happens when a Barry beer reviewer join forces with an imaginative brewer. Fleshy Blood Orange West Coast IPA.
Play Dead – Brewed with 100% pilsner malt. Its crispness is beautifully balanced by a touch of alcohol sweetness, while Saaz and Perle hops bring gentle spicy, herbal notes with a flicker of citrus. Add in that signature Belgian yeast, and you get a hint of banana that rounds it all out. Elegant, complex, and every sip keeps you coming back for more. Belgian Style Tripel.
Search Party – Big hop aroma, punchy body, and more satisfying than finding your keys after a night out. NZ Pale Ale.
What Dogs Want – A classic British Oatmeal Stout infused with chocolate chip cookies. Smooth roasted malts with notes of dark chocolate, cookies and cream — it’s sweet, rich, and pure comfort in a can. Milk & Cookies Stout .
Big Dog on the Bridge – Bold, powerful, and proud of it. A true statement beer. Extra Pale Ale.
Fetch the Reaper – A dark, dangerous beauty. The kind of beer that stares into your soul and winks. Kveik IPA.
Old Dog New Tricks – Proof that experience still counts. Smooth, clever, and full of depth. Oatmeal Stout.
And don’t miss Stay Stuffed — Lee’s cheeky twist on Tiny Rebel’s Stay Puft. It’s rich, sweet, and utterly indulgent, like drinking dessert by the campfire. Marshmallow Stout.
Then there’s the mighty NIN-10 Dogs — bold, complex, and brewed for people who like their beer loud. Pale Ale.
Award-Winning Welsh Craft
Dog’s Window isn’t just good — it’s officially brilliant. The brewery recently picked up silverware at Indie Beer Cymru 2025, proving that Lee’s beers don’t just taste great in the pub; they impress the judges too!
And if you’re a Barry beer fan, you might’ve spotted Lee’s collaboration with none other than Simon Martin of Real Ale Craft Beer fame. Together, they brewed Okie Dokie Loki — a blood orange-infused beauty that’s as bold and juicy as the name suggests.
