Nash Point Brewery Opening in Barry, A New Chapter for Local Beer

Something genuinely exciting is brewing in Barry, and this time it’s not just talk.
On March 28th, Nash Point Brewery officially opens its taproom doors, bringing fresh energy, locally brewed beer, and a proper sense of community to the area. For a town that’s steadily building a reputation for good pubs and great beer, this feels like a real step forward.
And this isn’t guesswork. I’ve already been inside.

A First Look Inside Nash Point Brewery Barry
I recently visited Nash Point Brewery to film a collaboration brew with Dog’s Window Brewery,
and one thing is immediately clear.
This place is already up and running.
The brewery itself is fully operational, the beers are being brewed, and everything behind the scenes is dialled in. What’s nearing completion now is the taproom, which opens to the public on March 28th.
That’s a big difference.
This isn’t a startup finding its feet. It’s a working brewery that’s ready to welcome people in.
The Collaboration: Gelert
The beer being brewed during my visit is a collaboration with Dog’s Window, called Gelert, named after the famous Welsh legend.
If you know the story, you’ll know it’s one that sticks with you. And that’s exactly the point.
It ties directly into Nash Point’s slogan:
“Every beer a legend.”
And from what I’ve seen, that’s not just a nice line. It’s shaping how they build their beers from day one.
What’s Being Brewed
While the final style confirmation will come later, what I saw being brewed was a 4.5% hazy pale-style beer, designed to be modern, drinkable, and full of character. Following the Nash Point brand motto of every beer a legend, and Dog's Window's doggy edge, Gelert is named after the Welsh legend of Beddgelert, or Beth Gelert.

From the sample I saw on-site, the beer has that rich, hazy orange appearance, the kind that immediately suggests body, softness, and flavour rather than something thin or forgettable.
Behind the scenes, it’s built on a solid base of pale malt with oats and speciality grains to give it that fuller, softer mouthfeel.
But let’s be honest.
The hops are doing the heavy lifting.
We’re looking at:
Enigma, bringing tropical and berry notes
Peacharine, adding soft stone fruit character
Chinook, giving it a bit of bite and structure
With Target laying down a clean bitterness earlier in the process.
It’s also been dry hopped in stages, which should really drive those aromas once it’s finished.
In simple terms, this isn’t a safe beer. It’s been built to stand out!
Not Just One Beer
Gelert won’t be the only thing pouring either.
Nash Point already has beers out in the wild, including:
Revival Pale, a sessionable pale ale that’s already picking up strong feedback locally, even hitting early five-star ratings on Untappd
Bedrock Bitter, a more traditional offering, showing they’re not just chasing trends but covering the full spectrum of drinkers
Both are already available in local pubs and are expected to be pouring on launch day, giving people a proper range to explore straight away.
That’s a smart move. Not everyone wants haze and fruit-forward beers, and Nash Point clearly understands that.
Opening Day, What to Expect
The official opening on March 28th marks the launch of the taproom, and it’s shaping up to be more than just a first pour.
The event runs from 1pm to 9pm, and there’s a strong community angle built in.
For every pint poured on the day, £1 will be donated to Blood Bikes Wales, supporting vital work across the region.
So you’re not just going for a beer. You’re supporting something worthwhile at the same time.
Where It’s Happening
You’ll find Nash Point Brewery at:
41 Atlantic Business Park, Hayes Lane, Sully, CF64 5AB
A proper local spot, and one that’s about to get a lot more attention.
Be There
If you’re anywhere near Barry on March 28th, make the effort.
Go down, try the beers, and see what Nash Point Brewery is all about from the very beginning.
Because this isn’t just another opening.
It’s a working brewery opening its doors to the public for the first time.
