Whitstable’s Sailing Yacht Cormorant to take part in Rolex Middle Sea Race
Shepherd Neame and The Old Neptune's licensee Darren Wilton are sponsoring the Sailing Yacht Cormorant for the 2026 Rolex Middle Sea Race, which starts in Malta on 17 October. It will be Whitstable's first entrant in the event. The yacht will be skippered by Whitstable resident Patrick Maflin, director and founder of Marine Accounts, who will sail with his team. Marine Accounts has spent around 12 years working with crews and marine professionals. Wilton described Pat as a local at The Old Neptune and said the pub wanted Whitstable to be represented. Rose Davis, Shepherd Neame's head of brands, said it's a historic opportunity to introduce Whitstable Bay and The Old Neptune to an international audience, and she wished the team luck.
